At König + Neurath our integrated process-oriented management system is the driving force behind our corporate responsibility. It is certified in accordance with the international management standards DIN EN ISO 9001 (quality management), DIN EN ISO 14001 (environmental management) and DIN EN ISO 50001 (energy management). Furthermore most of our products have been awarded multiple certificates.

UN Global Compact is the name of the world’s largest and most important initiative for responsible company management. The vision of UN Global Compact is an inclusive and sustainable world economy based on ten universal principles.

König + Neurath is part of this initiative and signed the declaration in 2016, in which companies pledge to adhere to binding principles relating to human rights, working standards, the environment and climate protection, as well as prevention of corruption. The annual progress report (Communication on Progress, abbreviated as COP) is an important basis of our commitment to the UN Global Compact. It is our central instrument for setting out aspects of our performance in this area in transparent format. EcoVadis provides companies with overall ratings in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility, or CSR. This rating covers a number of non-financial management systems. Performance in the themed areas of Environment, Labour Practices & Human Rights, Fair Business Practices and Sustainable Procurement are taken into consideration for this.

The ratings are shown on easy-to-read scorecards with points from zero to 100 and medals (bronze, silver gold and platin). They also show strengths and improvement areas so that they can be used to create action plans for improvement of CSR performance.

König + Neurath has CSR performance rated annually by EcoVadis, to evidence the company’s high standards in corporate social responsibility. In 2022, König + Neurath was assessed with Gold status for the forth time in a row.

The Blue Angel - the German government's environmental label - has been setting independent and credible standards for environmentally friendly and durable products and services since 1978. The Blue Angel is Germany's best-known eco-label that focuses on the entire product life cycle. The criteria defined for each product group are reviewed every three to four years by the Federal Environment Agency. This encourages companies to incorporate technical progress in the design of environmentally friendly products.

König + Neurath products bear the Blue Angel in the categories tables, storage space and room structuring systems (DE-UZ 38) and upholstered furniture (DE-UZ 117). They thus meet the highest ecological standards and contribute to good indoor air quality.

European LEVEL-Zertifizierung

LEVEL is the first European certificate for the office furniture industry that combines all relevant aspects of sustainability. LEVEL certification not only scrutinises the product to be certified, but also the production site and the company itself. Requirements in the four impact areas of material, energy and atmosphere, health of people and ecosystem and social responsibility are assessed. To receive the LEVEL certificate, products must first meet certain minimum requirements in all four impact areas. Only then can additional points be collected for certification. For this, manufacturers must precisely measure inputs and outputs of their manufacturing processes, use suitable materials, document the product design and show how they meet their social responsibility. The majority of the König + Neurath product range has reached the highest assessment level LEVEL 3.

Möbel Made in Germany

The geographical guarantee of origin "Möbel Made in Germany" stands for high quality, durability and healthy living. The requirements have been laid down by the German Institute for Quality Assurance and Labelling (RAL). The criteria are extremely demanding. Construction, assembly and quality testing must take place entirely in Germany. In addition, the manufacturing process relevant to quality must take place predominantly in Germany. Compliance with the requirements is monitored by the German Furniture Quality Association (DGM).. The majority of the König + Neurath portfolio is marked with the "Möbel Made in Germany" label.

The Indoor Advantage Gold quality mark programme from SCS Global Services is one of the world’s best-known and most widely used emission quality labels. Products bearing this label adhere to stringent emission limits, thereby contributing to long-term protection of human health. We have received this award for a large number of our products thanks to consistent use of low-emission materials in our office furniture and seating production.

SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certified furniture is tested for hazardous substances by independent test institutes, for example in Germany the well-known eco-INSTITUT in Cologne. Requirements are based on the US standards ANSI/BIFMA M7.1 and X7.1, as well as the California Section 01350 test standard for indoor products (CDPH Standard Method v1.1).
